An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
